Hello Everyone
My name is Leigh Goodwin. My latest project is designed to benefit ex-offenders in American communities. An important person has recoined the term ex-offender and ex-convict into: “New Contributor”. I like the term New Contributor because it has a positive connotation to it. In 1991, I had some legal trouble that has since been expunged. In 1998, I graduated from National University in California with my MBA degree in Business Administration & Management Technology. I was a licensed Real Estate Broker From 2002 to 2006. Not only have I made some meaningful contributions to California organizations but I have learned and continue to learn from my mistakes, failures and experiences.
As a result I believe that inside many high functioning, intelligent, nonviolent new contributors is a living, breathing, potentially loving person of GOD who has the potential for community, business and career success. There are numerous new contributions that can be taught how to make meaningful contributions to society.
What This Project Is Not:
- A blaming group or place where New Contributors can blame the system and others for their pasts
- A loud, unruly protest against any entity, group or person
- A backlash against the Legal System
- A plan to try to change the laws of the land
What This Project Is: - A tool to reinforce personal responsibility for personal choices
- A community development tool
- A business skills development tool
- A peer to peer support tool
- A place where new contributors can continue to build onto their personal integrity
This project will save lives- Mine and Others.
One solution to working toward safer and sustainable communities involves collaborations between new contributors and organizations that design programs for them.
Privatization may become inevitable. So, it helps that the number of companies hiring new contributors has grown-
BUT imagine how much richer and meaningful communities could become with capable new contributors learning to become successful entrepreneurs or small or home business owners.
My “Inside every new contributor” project will involve three parts. Phase one will be a book that provides insight and motivation to help new contributors get and stay motivated. Phase two will be the launching of a comprehensive online weekly color newspaper. Phase three will be the establishment of a nonpartisan research and education council.
