E-zine Publishing

Advances in technology have made e-zine, online magazine and newspaper publishing easier. Google a list of e-zines or check any directory of e-zines and you will find e-zines on many topics.

Investment clubs run by seniors to teens that collect Pokémon trading cards, or trade XBOX gaming strategies. A comedian may share his or her jokes with their audience and ask them to cast their votes on which jokes have the most promise. My last e-zine was used to inform baby boomers about various fitness issues, tools and news.

Some internet entrepreneurs also have e-zines to build relationships with their current customers and to continue list building.

Learning how to create and publish an e-zine is not difficult. You only need three tools and about two to three hours per week. If you maximize one of the tools you can nearly cut this time in half so you can have time to other things that are important to you.

What kind of e-zine will you publish?

One thing to keep in mind up front is what purpose you want the e-zine to serve. An e-zine can have many purposes both for you and the reader. Some ideas include:

  • To promote your business

  • To generate income for you

  • To share ideas, information or  tools with your readers

  • To sell products for others

  • To sell advertising to businesses
